Weaving the World

Many cultures tell the story of the wise old woman weaving the world together, creating it anew when chaos erupts and the threads of life have been torn apart. Respect for the diversity in our world can lead us to new wisdom and ways of being together as the world is woven anew.

FAN Threads of Hope Exhibit is based on hope, longing and desire for the future of the world. Each fibre art piece will have a red "thread" entering the left side and exiting the right side of the art at 3" finished width on both sides.

Materials: Hand dyed and commercial cottons, assorted silks and other fibres, paper, pearl cotton

Techniques: Twisted strips of fabric woven with a pearl cotton warp
