Statement: Canada is a land where many different roots find ground to flourish. My family roots are fairly recent. Two of my grandparents were born in Denmark, one in Iceland and only one in Canada. It’s a country where the roots of the cultures and traditions vary from thousands of years ago to the present year.

Materials/Techniques: Machine piecing, hand and fused applique, thread sketching, machine quilting.

Created for the FAN Travelling Exhibit “Canadiana” which I co-organized.
