Midnight in the Garden of Metamorphosis

28” X 28”

2005

Statement: I created this piece in the class “Playing to Learn, Learning to Play” with Mary Sullivan Holdgrafer at CQA in Winnipeg (2004). It was a truly unique class that helped me discover more about myself and what I love about fabric. It helped me to work in layers, which I love to do and to focus on each idea as it unfolded which tied in nicely with one of my mantras “One Step at a Time”. I also was able to let loose with all my wonderful odd fabrics from many sewing projects.

Materials/Techniques: appliqued, hand and machine quilted, embroidery, beading and 3D work.
