Blue Moon of Darkover

Marion Zimmer Bradley’s novels from her Darkover series feature several different coloured moons that traverse the sky at different times and seasons.

I often gaze at the evening sky before I go to bed. I thought how wonderful it would be to create my own moon to complement the one I often see. 

Materials: Cotton, wool batting, metallic fabric, silk ribbon, metallic ribbon and thread, glue

Techniques: abstract knotted grids using ribbon and stiffened with glue, fusing, machine quilting
